We found this lawn in a sorry-looking state; it was full of knee length weeds with not much grass at all. We cut it down to a level where we could remove the existing turf completely using a specialised turf cutter. After rotavating and levelling the soil, we raked in some conditioned top-dressing and sowed in fresh seed before covering the area with germination sheets. This provided the ideal environment for protected grass growth, aided by twice-a-day watering to return a lovely lush lawn within 5 weeks.
